Dear Dr Sardeshmukh,
I would like to thank you for
agreeing to take part in CONNECTing with, being held 26-28
April 2002 in Brisbane, Australia, discussing the future
of music, music education and arts in the 21st century.
The themes for the three days
will be:
Friday 26 April Leadership, Advocacy and Creative Futures
Saturday 27 April Music Making in a Culturally Diverse Society
Sunday 28 April Contemporary Directions in Music Education
and Training
From community and education
groups to international artists, we will look at the feasibility
and evolution of music, music education and the arts locally
and globally. Particular attention will be given to the
role of the Conservatorium within this context and how it
can best be related to its immediate community.
We are extremely pleased to have
you as an Animateur and Workshop Leader and consider your
participation most crucial to the success of the weekend.
In addition, we would like you to take part in other Soundings
session over the weekend as a leader in the various dialogue
groups.
We have put together a fascinating
schedule of events with international, national and local
speakers, including a key gusts from Australia, the United
Kingdom, Denmark, the Netherlands and Asia.
Through CONNECTing with and
Jammin' . Making music together, we will share iwht
Brisbane and Queensland communities the energy, new ideals
and activity that will benefit us all in our future growth
in music making and education.
The attachments will provide
you with all the relevant information, such as scheduling
and content of the weekend.
