He is among the most accomplished and leading tabla players today. He began his initial training under his Guru Dhiranjan Chakraborty at the tender age of seven. In the year 1994 the tabla legends Ustad Alla Rakha and Ustad Zakir Hussain took him under their wings and he has learnt under their tutelage since.

Blessed with incredibly dexterous fingers and innate creativity, Prithwi has progressed to become a tabla player of very high order with vigorous practice under the watchful eyes of his Gurus.
